Quick start#
- Install Instagram Follower Exporter from the Chrome Web Store.
- Open the target Instagram profile and keep that tab open.
- Open Web Tidy → Follower Exporter.
- Choose Followers or Following, a row limit, CSV or XLSX, and duplicate removal.
- Click Start export, follow the task state, and download the result.
1. Before you export#
1.1 Target and access#
Open the target Instagram profile and keep that tab open. You can enter any username or profile URL, but results depend on what the current browser session can access. Private, unavailable, login-gated, challenged, or rate-limited lists are not bypassed.
1.2 Permissions and privacy#
| Permission or host | Purpose |
|---|---|
| storage | Settings, task state, History, and rows |
| tabs | The selected Instagram target tab |
| downloads | Explicit CSV/XLSX downloads |
| instagram.com, i.instagram.com | Supported profile and list sources |
The current package does not request Chrome cookies, scripting, identity, or alarms permission and does not ask for an Instagram password or cookie value.
2. Start the export#
2.1 Choose the target and audience#
Each task exports one Instagram profile's Followers or Following list. The product does not follow, like, comment, message, enrich contacts, or bypass Instagram access controls.
2.2 Controls and states#
Pause stops the next page, Resume continues the same task, and Stop keeps confirmed rows as a partial result. The seven task phases are validating, running, paused, stopping, completed, partial, and failed.
Login, challenge, rate limit, unavailable profile, or lost page context stops the run for user attention. Only transient network and HTTP 5xx failures retry, with at most three attempts per request.
3. Download the file#
3.1 Download options#
| Option | Current behavior |
|---|---|
| Row limit | 100, 200, 500, or 1,000 confirmed rows per run; no cumulative Web Tidy allowance |
| Format | CSV or native XLSX |
| Duplicates | Remove by exported account ID; enabled by default |
The product is completely free and requires no Web Tidy account, subscription, or credit card.
3.2 Field dictionary#
CSV and XLSX use the same 14-column order:
| No. | Field | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | id | Exported account identifier |
| 2 | pk | Platform key when returned |
| 3 | username | Instagram username |
| 4 | profileUrl | Profile URL |
| 5 | fullName | Display name when returned |
| 6 | profilePicUrl | Profile image URL when returned |
| 7 | isVerified | Verification state when returned |
| 8 | followedByViewer | Whether the current viewer follows the exported account |
| 9 | requestedByViewer | Whether the current viewer requested to follow the account |
| 10 | audience | followers or following |
| 11 | sourceProfile | Source profile handle |
| 12 | sourceProfileUrl | Source profile URL |
| 13 | collectedAt | Local normalization time, not original follow time |
| 14 | rowIndex | Final local row order, not Instagram ranking |
3.3 Downloads and History#
Files are generated locally and saved through Chrome Downloads. History keeps up to 20 recent terminal tasks and can reopen a completed or partial local artifact. Deleting an artifact removes its saved rows from the product; separately saved files remain on the device.
4. Validate and use the result#
4.1 Validate the file#
Before using a file, confirm its sourceProfile/sourceProfileUrl, audience, terminal task state, actual row count, and format. A blank field means the source list did not return that value and should not be filled in by assumption.
4.2 Compare Followers and Following#
Export both lists for the same profile and match primarily on id: Following − Followers is a non-follow-back review list; Followers − Following is the reverse. Web Tidy creates the source files but does not contact or label those accounts.
4.3 Compare dated snapshots#
Compare the same audience on two dates to review additions and removals. A missing row alone does not prove an unfollow: username changes, deactivation, privacy, and access changes can also remove a row.
5. Troubleshooting and support#
| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| Profile is not recognized | Open the profile directly, refresh Instagram, then reopen Web Tidy |
| Login or challenge | Complete the action in Instagram; Web Tidy does not bypass it |
| Rate limit or unavailable | Stop, verify access, and wait before another bounded run |
| Task becomes partial | Review the terminal reason and use only the confirmed rows |
| Third retry still fails | Check the network and start a new task only when ready |
| Download is missing | Check Chrome Downloads, permissions, and task History |
| A field is blank | Keep it blank; the supported source did not return that value |
Use exports only where platform terms, privacy obligations, anti-spam rules, and local law allow. For related details, see the product page, privacy policy, or contact Web Tidy.
6. Frequently asked questions#
How does the Instagram follower export work?
Open an Instagram profile available to your current browser session, choose Followers or Following, a 100/200/500/1,000 row limit, and CSV/XLSX, then press Start. A completed task downloads locally and can be downloaded again from recent History.
Do I need a Web Tidy account?
No. This SKU is 100% free and does not require a Web Tidy login, subscription, or cloud account. Your browser still needs the Instagram session required to access the target list.
Do you need my Instagram password?
No. The extension uses the session already available in your Instagram tab. It does not ask you to paste a password, cookie, CSRF token, or raw response, and it does not request Chrome's cookies permission.
Will my Instagram account get banned?
No third-party tool can promise zero risk. Web Tidy uses explicit row ceilings, pause or stop controls, Attention states, and bounded retries to avoid open-ended requests. Instagram can still require login or verification, rate-limit access, or stop a target; the task stops continuation when those outcomes appear.
Must the Instagram tab stay open?
Yes, while an export is running. The task depends on the current Instagram page and browser request context. Closing the page or losing its context interrupts the local run, which then stops with its confirmed state available for review.
What site access and Chrome permissions does it request?
The current package declares instagram.com and i.instagram.com hosts plus storage, tabs, and downloads. Storage keeps settings and recent tasks, tabs locates an explicit target, and downloads saves local CSV/XLSX files. It does not request cookies, identity, scripting, or alarms.
What data is in a follower export?
The 14-column schema is id, pk, username, profileUrl, fullName, profilePicUrl, isVerified, followedByViewer, requestedByViewer, audience, sourceProfile, sourceProfileUrl, collectedAt, and rowIndex. A field can be empty when the response does not provide it.
Can I export comments and likes?
Not with this SKU. Instagram Follower Exporter handles Followers or Following. Instagram Comments Exporter is a separate product; likes export is not promised on this page.
Does it automate follows, likes, comments, or messages?
No. Instagram Follower Exporter is a bounded spreadsheet export tool. It does not automatically follow, like, comment, message, enrich contacts, or run outreach.
Is it free? What do plans cost?
The current Chrome Store SKU is 100% free. It requires no Web Tidy account, subscription, or credit card and has no Plus or Pro tier.
Where are exports stored, and how long?
Run settings, local result state, and up to 20 recent terminal tasks stay in extension-local storage for History and re-download. CSV/XLSX files are saved to your device through the browser. The first release does not upload results to Web Tidy Admin or a remote service.
Can I cancel? Do you refund?
There is no subscription or payment for this SKU, so there is no cancellation or refund workflow. Uninstalling stops future use, and a local result can also be deleted explicitly in the product.
Does this break Instagram's rules?
Web Tidy does not promise that every use complies with platform terms and does not bypass access controls. Export only data you are entitled to access and use, and follow applicable platform terms, privacy duties, and local law.
How do I see who does not follow me back or who unfollowed?
You can process the files further. Export Followers and Following for the same profile to compare accounts that do not follow back or that you do not follow back; compare two dated exports of the same list to see added and missing rows. Web Tidy currently supplies the source files rather than labelling unfollowers inside the extension. A missing row is not definitive proof of an unfollow because renames, deactivation, privacy, or access changes can also remove a row.
Can it export any Instagram profile?
Yes. You can enter any Instagram profile; the actual export scope depends on whether your current Instagram browser session can access that profile and its Followers/Following lists. Private, unavailable, restricted, or verification-gated targets may not export.
Which file formats are supported?
The committed artifact writer produces CSV and XLSX. Each task keeps the format selected at Start, including a later History re-download.
How many rows can one run export?
Choose 100, 200, 500, or 1,000 confirmed rows before Start. A run can finish earlier after a user stop, login or verification requirement, rate limit, unavailable profile, or lost page context.
How are duplicate accounts handled?
Deduplication is on by default and removes repeated exported account ids within the current task before rows are written. You can explicitly turn Remove duplicates off before Start.
Can I pause, resume, or stop a task?
Yes. Pause prevents the next page from starting, Resume continues only after your command, and Stop ends the task while keeping confirmed rows. Terminal and recent tasks remain reviewable in Tasks or History.
Why did a task enter Attention, partial, or failed?
Common causes include login, verification or challenge, rate limit, a private or unavailable profile, response changes, network failure, or lost page context. Platform Attention does not start a new run automatically; you choose whether to retry after fixing the cause.
Are the table samples from a real export?
Yes. The 50 rows shown on this page came from a real follower export of instagram.com/mrbeast on August 15, 2026. The page preserves the export order and labels the fields and source link directly.
Is the Chrome Web Store version available now?
Yes. The verified Chrome Store detail page currently provides an install action. Final install availability can still depend on your Chrome version, account, and Store region.
