Privacy and permissions
How Web Tidy explains browser permissions, local processing, exports, and product boundaries.
Every Web Tidy SKU should explain what it reads, what it changes, and what it does not do.
Current platform permissions#
- Google Maps tools run on Google Maps or supported local business research pages and prepare visible business fields for export.
- WhatsApp tools run on
web.whatsapp.comand cover blur, exports, list cleaning, and guarded sending workflows. - Facebook tools run on Facebook pages and groups and export visible comments or group-member fields from the supported views.
- Instagram tools run on Instagram and analyze visible feed items.
- Reddit tools run on Reddit and export public comments or thread content from supported pages.
- Shopify tools run on Shopify storefronts and prepare public product rows.
- X/Twitter tools run on
x.comortwitter.comand export current-session public or account-visible research data, with sensitive sources called out.
SKU checklist#
Each SKU page should answer:
- Which page or platform does the tool run on?
- Does it read visible page content?
- Does it change the page visually, export data, or both?
- Does it upload content to a server?
- Does it require an account, password, or payment?
- Does the source include sensitive account-visible areas such as bookmarks, DMs, blocked users, muted users, or private settings?
Local-first language#
Use local-first language only when the product actually behaves that way. Avoid claiming cloud sync, AI processing, account control, or automation unless the SKU supports it and the product page says the same thing.
Hard boundaries#
Do not describe Web Tidy as:
- An official tool from Google, Meta, WhatsApp, Reddit, Shopify, X, or Twitter.
- A way to bypass platform limits, account controls, privacy settings, or login requirements.
- A bulk outreach system unless the SKU page explicitly covers the guarded sending workflow and the user has approved real sending gates.
- A private-data extraction product.
