Sort Instagram Posts by Date Range
Define an inclusive From/To window, load a supported preset that covers it, manually keep in-window profile cards, and sort the current set by Date.
On This Page
Define an explicit From and To, name the timezone, and include both endpoints—for example, From=2026-05-01 00:00, To=2026-05-31 23:59:59, Asia/Shanghai, inclusive. INS Sorter currently offers 1 week / 1 month / 3 months / 6 months / 1 year / All loading presets; it does not have a custom From/To picker. Choose a preset that reaches the From boundary, sort by Date, and manually retain only loaded cards inside the exact window. An empty window means zero matches in the currently loaded, dated set—not that the account posted nothing.
How an exact window works with loading presets
The target remains a one-segment profile grid available to the current session. The product preset loads candidates far enough back; your explicit boundary test implements the exact From/To; Date ascending or descending determines reading order inside the window.
This is not an arbitrary-date database query. It does not guarantee complete history, recover deleted or archived content, or use private Insights. If the current page or chosen preset never reaches From, label the result partial rather than converting the gap into “zero posts.”
Six boundary rows
Window=2026-05-01 through 2026-05-31, endpoints inclusive; timezone=Asia/Shanghai; Loaded=6; Date ↑.
The text output is included: R-B → R-C → R-D; excluded: R-A, R-E; missing: R-F. Date ↓ changes only the included order to R-D → R-C → R-B.
Date-window limitation matrix
Seven steps for an exact date window
- Write From, To, timezone, and inclusive/exclusive rule; do not use only “May” or “recently.”
- Open the current-session-accessible
instagram.com/username/profile root. - Choose the shortest preset among 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and All that can cover From. There is no custom calendar picker.
- Complete loading or press Stop to retain a partial set. Record Loaded, terminal state, and earliest loaded date.
- Choose Date ↑ or Date ↓, open posts near both boundaries, and normalize their times to the declared timezone.
- Manually keep only cards satisfying
From ≤ post time ≤ To. List missing dates separately. - Output included, excluded, missing, Loaded, terminal state, and coverage assessment. An empty included set must say “zero matches in current set.”
Verification checklist
- From, To, timezone, inclusivity, and the lack of a custom picker are explicit.
- The chosen preset can reach From; otherwise the result is marked partial.
- Both endpoint cases and one counterexample on each side were tested.
- Missing dates are separate, not parsed as zero, epoch, or outside.
- Loaded, terminal state, Date direction, and earliest loaded date are recorded.
- An empty window was not interpreted as an empty account or zero posting.
- The conclusion is limited to the loaded set and never claims a public-grid change.
Limits and stop conditions
Date presets are relative loading ranges, not exact From/To queries. Manual boundary decisions depend on the date evidence exposed by the current page and the timezone you declare. Timezone, daylight-saving transitions, and display precision can affect midnight boundaries; verify the first and last source posts and retain an original timestamp when available.
INS Sorter does not export, create reports or media copies, monitor continuously, access private Insights, recover deleted/archived content, or bypass login, challenge, privacy, or access controls. If one controlled load still cannot reach From, stop and report the gap.
FAQ
Does INS Sorter have a custom From/To picker?
No. It currently has 1-week, 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, 1-year, and All presets. Apply exact boundaries manually within the loaded set.
Are From and To inclusive?
This workflow includes both by default, but your output must state the rule and timezone.
Does zero matches mean the account did not post?
No. It means the currently loaded, dated set had no match.
Can I analyze a set after Stop?
Yes, but mark it partial and record stopped, Loaded, and the earliest loaded date.
Will the sort change the public grid?
No. It only changes the current tab's temporary presentation.
Use the INS Sorter product page to choose a loading preset that can cover From. For an exportable exact-history query, use a separately authorized data source with an explicit date contract.
