Separate temporary performance research, private layout preview, and owner-only public grid reordering by input, persistence, visitor effect, and metric effect.

INS Sorter creates only a temporary performance-ranked research view in the current browser. A private feed planner previews unpublished layout. Only an authorized account owner using a native reorder control actually available in the current Instagram UI may change the public profile order visitors see. The three have different inputs, persistence, and visitor effects. Do not call “sort by Likes” an edited public grid.

Three easily confused verbs

  • Sort performance: temporarily order loaded cards from the current accessible profile by Likes, Comments, Views, or Date. Only the local page changes.
  • Preview layout: drag user-provided unpublished media placeholders in a private planner. It previews future composition; it does not rank public performance.
  • Reorder public grid: an owner uses whatever native Instagram control the current account actually exposes. A full third-party guide reports a mobile rollout, but account, region, and version availability can vary; verify the owner UI.

Ask who will see the change

“Only this browser tab” means performance sorting. “Only me before publishing” means private preview. “Other visitors to the public profile” means owner-side public mutation. That last outcome must come from a current Instagram control, not a local sorter or planner.

Even identical sequences are not interchangeable. A is research over a current loaded set, B is an unpublished layout draft, and C is public mutation. Position alone does not automatically increase Likes, Comments, Views, or conversion.

Publishing and public reordering are external mutations and were not performed for this page. A third-party rollout report supports the need for current UI readback, not a universal availability claim.

Limits

INS Sorter does not upload, publish, delete, pin, or reorder a public profile; access private Insights; change post dates or metrics; monitor continuously; or guarantee complete history. It changes only local presentation of current loaded cards. Planner privacy and storage claims belong to the specific product. Native reorder availability can change, and this page has no official Instagram readback, so it does not claim every account has the feature.
