How to Export Instagram Followers to Excel (Native XLSX)

Create a native XLSX workbook from an accessible Instagram Followers list and verify its sheet, 14 columns, row count, and task state.

If the handoff must be an Excel workbook, choose XLSX before starting the Instagram Followers export. Web Tidy generates a native Office Open XML workbook from the confirmed rows. It does not rename comma-separated text to .xlsx.

This page is specifically about Followers to XLSX

This is not a general roundup of every Instagram export method. It answers a narrower requirement: generate a native .xlsx workbook for accounts that follow one target profile.

It does not cover the opposite Following direction, CSV importing, non-follow-back formulas, historical unfollower detection, or common-followers analysis. The current Instagram session must be able to access the target list; choosing Excel does not change that access boundary.

Export Instagram Followers to Excel step by step

  1. In Chrome, open an Instagram profile available to the current browser session.
  2. Open Instagram Follower Exporter and verify the target username or profile URL.
  3. Set Audience to Followers.
  4. Choose 100, 200, 500, or 1,000 as the row ceiling.
  5. Leave ID-based duplicate removal enabled unless your audit needs the source duplicates preserved.
  6. Set Format to XLSX, then start the task.
  7. Follow the task through validating, running, paused, stopping, completed, partial, or failed.
  8. Download the .xlsx result and open it in Excel, LibreOffice Calc, or another workbook-compatible application.

The current XLSX contains one worksheet named Instagram audience. It uses the same 14 columns as the CSV writer:

XLSX does not add hidden enrichment fields. Optional values remain blank when the current Instagram relationship list does not return them.

Verify the Excel workbook

  1. Show full filename extensions and confirm the file ends in .xlsx, not .csv, .xls, or .xlsx.csv.
  2. Open it as a workbook and confirm the worksheet is named Instagram audience.
  3. Verify the first row has all 14 headers in the order above.
  4. Confirm audience is followers and sourceProfile/sourceProfileUrl identify the intended target.
  5. Confirm the row count and task state agree with the handoff. Do not describe a partial result as complete.
  6. Make sure long values such as id and pk have not been rewritten in scientific notation after later edits or exports.

collectedAt is the local normalization time, not the relationship-event time. rowIndex is the local output order, not an Instagram ranking.

Limits, errors, and permissions

  • Each run is bounded to 100, 200, 500, or 1,000 confirmed rows.
  • Login, challenge, rate limit, private or unavailable targets, and lost page context stop the task.
  • Only transient network failures and HTTP 5xx responses retry, with no more than three attempts per request.
  • Local History holds up to 20 terminal tasks. It does not schedule or monitor future changes.
  • Chrome permissions are storage, tabs, and downloads; the package does not request cookies, scripting, identity, or alarms.

There is no JSON export, CRM sync, email or phone enrichment, automatic follow/unfollow/message action, or bypass for private profiles, login, challenges, or rate limits.

Can I rename a CSV file to .xlsx?

No. Changing the extension does not change the internal format. Select XLSX at export time when a native workbook is required.

No. File format and list coverage are separate. Check the selected ceiling, confirmed rows, task state, and target access.
