Best Instagram Follower Export Chrome Extensions: How to Choose

Compare six current Chrome Store candidates by identity, formats, ceilings, data flow, recovery, evidence, and disqualifiers.

On This Page

There is no honest overall winner without running every extension against the same allowed input. Of six candidates whose Chrome Web Store pages were checked on August 31, 2026, Web Tidy is the only one for which we could inspect local code and automated tests for this complete contract: Followers or Following, a 100/200/500/1,000 ceiling, CSV or native XLSX, persisted confirmed rows, and explicit completed/partial outcomes. We did not run a real Instagram login E2E, so this is a documented bounded option—not a universal “best.”

The other five candidates were read in full on the Store but were not installed, purchased, or run. Store users, ratings, and vendor limits are screening evidence, not proof of completeness or runtime recovery.

Disclosure: Web Tidy publishes this page and develops Instagram Follower Exporter.

What the first-party runtime evidence proves

Web Tidy deduplicates by account ID by default. confirmed counts persisted, deduplicated rows. Both writers use this fixed 14-column contract:

id,pk,username,profileUrl,fullName,profilePicUrl,isVerified,
followedByViewer,requestedByViewer,audience,sourceProfile,
sourceProfileUrl,collectedAt,rowIndex

Local mocks cover 6 confirmed rows ending completed, 2 confirmed rows ending partial, and a rate-limit attention state with 2 confirmed rows. Completed and partial are downloadable. Attention is nonterminal and not downloadable; it does not retry in the background, and a user must explicitly start a fresh run after resolving the condition. These mocks verify state, counting, and writer behavior—not real Instagram completeness.

Shared anonymous-input acceptance template

Use the same text record for every candidate. An unrun candidate must remain not run and cannot receive a best label.

input: one public low-count profile; no private-access workaround
direction: Followers (repeat separately for Following)
requested ceiling: 100
candidate + Store ID:
started_at / finished_at:
state: completed | partial | failed | attention | not observed
confirmed rows: integer; define persisted and deduplicated
download allowed: yes | no | unknown
native artifact: CSV | XLSX | none | unknown
header and column count:
stable-ID duplicates / blank rows:
first and last row reopen: yes | no | unknown
data location and retention:
recovery action and result:
conclusion: this input only; never “all followers”
stop: login, challenge, rate limit, private/unavailable, or lost access

Choose by requirement

  • For 1,000 rows or fewer, CSV/XLSX, and auditable confirmed/terminal/History boundaries, Web Tidy has the only locally inspectable contract here.
  • For a vendor-stated higher ceiling, test Exporter for Followers at 100 rows before upgrading. Do not treat 50,000 as an observed result.
  • For custom CSV input, Yue Apps has the matching listing, but its import, deduplication, retention, and recovery still need a run.
  • If account progress storage is unacceptable, inspect actual permissions and network behavior; the word “local” is insufficient.

How to verify after installation

  1. Reopen the original Store page and check the ID, developer, version, update, purchase state, and privacy disclosure.
  2. Inspect actual permissions and site access in chrome://extensions.
  3. Run Followers and Following separately against the same allowed small profile.
  4. Record requested ceiling, confirmed rows, and terminal state; a profile count is not a file row count.
  5. Open CSV/XLSX and check stable IDs, columns, blanks, duplicates, and first/last rows.

Limits

  • No candidate should be read as bypassing private access, login, challenge, or rate limits.
  • completed does not prove the file equals the profile's displayed total. partial means only that confirmed rows were preserved.
  • Web Tidy has only 100/200/500/1,000 ceilings. It does not promise unlimited rows, accurate follow time, or background monitoring.
  • collectedAt is collection time, not follow time.
  • Current run and History are separate: a terminal current run is archived when the next run starts, and History holds at most 20 archived terminal runs.
  • A Store listing is a vendor disclosure, not an independent runtime, privacy, or completeness audit.

Next step

If your acceptance criteria are Followers or Following, 1,000 rows or fewer, CSV or native XLSX, and the limits above, review Instagram Follower Exporter. Start with 100 rows and keep the confirmed-row, terminal-state, and header evidence.

FAQ

Which Chrome extension is best?

No overall winner is supported without shared runtime evidence. Web Tidy has the most locatable local contract; five alternatives have Store-only evidence in this review.

Do Store users and ratings prove completeness?

No. They do not prove confirmed rows, partial artifacts, column contracts, or recovery.

Do all six support Followers and Following?

All six listings state both directions. Only Web Tidy's local implementation and mocks were inspected here.

Does 50,000 beat 1,000?

50,000 is one vendor's published ceiling; 1,000 is Web Tidy's current hard ceiling. Neither is an all-followers guarantee.

Can rows be downloaded immediately after a rate limit?

It depends on the product. In SKU32, rate-limit attention can retain a confirmed count but is nonterminal and not downloadable; partial or completed is required.

Can an extension report accurate follow time?

This review found no supporting evidence. SKU32's collectedAt is only the collection timestamp.

Will it monitor in the background?

SKU32 does not request alarms and does not provide background monitoring. The unrun alternatives were not credited with that capability.
